Discussion on Newark Ave Pedestrian Plaza Closing

  • 09 Mar 2015
  • 7:30 PM
  • Grace Van Vorst Church (2nd and Erie)
Ward E Councilwoman Candice Osborne and representatives from several key City departments will speak at the Harsimus Cove Association meeting on Monday, March 9 at 7:30 PM at Grace Church Van Vorst (2nd & Erie Streets; enter through the red doors on 2nd Street).

They will discuss resident experiences related to the closure of Newark Avenue between Erie and Grove Streets last summer and fall for a pedestrian plaza, and the City’s current vision for the project going forward. The meeting will have both a presentation and a Q & A portion, and HCA expects that it will be well attended by residents throughout downtown.

Since this is a fairly large and multi-faceted topic to discuss within our allotted time, I ask that those interested email me your questions about the pedestrian plaza ahead of time (Deadline: March 6). The goal is to ensure that key observations, collective concerns, and constructive ideas/feedback receive their due consideration, while also allowing residents of Harsimus Cove and our neighboring communities an appropriate opportunity to express themselves within the framework of the meeting.
